Star Trek V: The Final Frontier était un jeu de plateforme en 2D développé par Bandai pour la NES. Il était basé sur le film Star Trek V: The Final Frontier, mais a été annulé avant sa sortie prévue. Le jeu inachevé présente des incohérences avec plusieurs éléments de l’intrigue et des personnages du film terminé. En 2006, une version prototype de quatre niveaux a été diffusée en ligne sous forme de fichier ROM, jouable via émulation sur PC ou sur une NES réelle. Les deux premiers niveaux et le niveau final étaient des jeux de tir horizontal. Le troisième niveau proposait un combat spatial où le joueur dirigeait l’USS Enterprise-A à travers un champ d’astéroïdes, puis affrontait un croiseur Klingon près de la "planète de la création".
