Le but de Palamedes est de vider l’écran, qui ligne par ligne, se remplit de dés. Le joueur controle un petit personnage en bas de l’écran, qui peut seulement bouger de gauche à droite, et qui tient un dé qu’il peut tourner avec le bouton B et le jeter sur les dés qui tombent du haut de l’écran avec le bouton A. Si le dé jeté par le joueur touche un dé avec le meme nombre, ces deux dés disparaissent.
